Al Zorah Mangrove Kayak
A private half-day paddling the still mangrove lagoons of Ajman's Al Zorah reserve, among flamingos and dozens of resident birds.
Tucked into the edge of Ajman, the Al Zorah reserve is a pocket of wild mangrove forest that feels a world away from the city, yet sits barely an hour from Dubai. On this private half-day you slip a kayak into glassy, motor-free channels and paddle at your own unhurried pace, while flamingos wade the shallows and more than fifty bird species move through the canopy around you. The water is calm and the route forgiving, so complete beginners are welcome, and your private guide reads the lagoon for you, naming the herons and kingfishers and timing the morning light for when the birds are at their busiest.

Do I need kayaking experience?
Not at all. The Al Zorah channels are calm and sheltered, and your guide gives a short briefing before you set off, so the route suits complete beginners and families alike.
Is the tour private?
Yes. You paddle with your own guide and travel by your own transfer, so the pace, the stops and the timing belong to your group rather than a crowd.
Will we see flamingos?
Al Zorah is home to flamingos along with more than fifty other bird species. Sightings are never guaranteed in the wild, but the reserve is one of the most reliable places near Dubai to see them, especially from October to April.
How long is the tour?
Plan for about half a day including transfers from Dubai or Ajman. Because it is private, you can take the channels slowly and linger wherever the birds gather.
