Since 1 October 2026 the air bridge between Russia and the UAE has grown noticeably denser. According to the trade outlet Russia Tourism News, Utair has restored a daily Moscow–Dubai service into Al Maktoum International (DWC), while Aeroflot has resumed a daily Moscow–Abu Dhabi line on a Boeing 737-800. For an affluent traveller heading to the Emirates privately, this is less about economy timetables and more about logistics: more direct ways into the country, and more freedom to pick the airport that fits the itinerary.
What actually changed
From 1 October two key Moscow lines are daily again, one into Dubai (DWC) and one into Abu Dhabi. In parallel, Utair is filling in a regional grid: Grozny–Dubai has run since 6 September, Tyumen–Dubai is added from 2 October, and Surgut–Dubai from 3 October.
That means direct arrivals are no longer limited to the capitals, and connectivity keeps widening toward the high winter season, with more cities and additional UAE arrival airports reported. For a private trip the sheer frequency matters: a daily line lets you shift departure by a day or two around a personal plan, without relying on connections.
Why it matters for a private trip
The main gain is choosing the arrival airport to suit the route. Al Maktoum (DWC) sits in southern Dubai, closer to Palm Jumeirah and the Dubai South villas, which shortens the chauffeured transfer to your residence. Abu Dhabi (AUH) makes sense when the trip is built around cultural Saadiyat and the Corniche.
A non-stop flight also means privacy on arrival: fewer airports along the way, a shorter control chain, and an easier handover to a VIP meet-and-greet and a private driver. For a two-emirate grand tour it is convenient to land at one airport and depart from the other without doubling back.
How to build it into the itinerary
If your trip centres on Dubai and the sea, arriving at DWC saves time to the Palm and a private on-water programme. If you are coming for culture and a calmer pace, a flight into Abu Dhabi places you beside the Saadiyat museums from day one.
It is wise to book the flight early: winter is peak season in the UAE, and premium cabins on direct routes fill first. We tailor the private tour to your actual arrival time and airport, so the first day is not lost to the road.
From 1 October 2026 there are more direct ways into the UAE from Russia, which gives a private trip more freedom: pick the airport to match the route, arrive without connections, and start the tour at once instead of losing the first day to transfers.
