Emirates has reached a milestone that matters to anyone who cares about how they arrive: 100 of its widebody jets have now been through a complete cabin refresh. Announced on 14 July 2026, the figure marks steady progress on a US$5 billion programme that is reshaping the experience on the aircraft most likely to carry you into Dubai.
What Emirates actually announced
The 100 aircraft break down into 47 Airbus A380s and 53 Boeing 777s, the two types that dominate Emirates' long-haul network. Work began in November 2022 at the airline's own engineering hangars in Dubai, and every refurbished jet leaves with a new Premium Economy cabin plus refreshed First, Business and Economy interiors where applicable. More than 3,800 Premium Economy seats have been fitted so far.
The programme ultimately covers 219 aircraft, with roughly 20 more due by the end of 2026, and Premium Economy is set to reach 99 destinations by year-end. A next phase begins in October 2026, adding 4K OLED HDR10+ seatback screens and lighter Safran Z400 seats, so the cabins arriving now are not the last word.
