On 3 September 2026 Emirates revealed a next-generation Premium Economy seat with an electric privacy screen between seats — the first of its kind in the world, according to The National. The seat debuts on Airbus A350 aircraft.
What's new in the seat
The headline detail is a vertical screen between neighbouring seats that the passenger raises, lowers and locks in place to stay private while sleeping, eating or working. The same controls shift the seat into lounge and meal modes. It is the airline's first fully electrically powered Premium Economy seat.
The seat is 20 inches (50.8cm) wide with a pitch of up to 39 inches (99cm), and it reclines into a cradle position without encroaching on the passenger behind. Additions include a leather U-Dream headrest with adjustable wings, wireless charging (a first in this cabin), USB-C ports and a 13.3-inch 4K HDR screen. The cabin holds 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout.
