Emirates Skywards has relaunched its Mile-A-Minute offer, built on an unusual idea for airline loyalty: you earn Miles for time spent in Dubai itself, not for distance flown. For a guest who travels to the emirate privately and without rushing, it is a rare case of a loyalty programme rewarding exactly the slow, considered style of trip.
What Emirates has brought back
According to Emirates 24|7 on 22 October 2026, the Emirates Skywards programme has revived an offer called Mile-A-Minute. A member earns one bonus Mile for every minute spent in Dubai, up to a cap of 7,200 Miles. That works out to roughly five days in the city.
The bonus is calculated from the length of stay shown on the ticketed itinerary rather than a separate measure of time on the ground. Extra Miles are also available on selected Arabian Adventures experiences, Emirates' own tour operator. To earn the bonus, you must register for the offer in advance and book an eligible return ticket on Emirates or flydubai.
Terms and timing
The booking window runs from 21 October to 5 November 2026, and the trip itself must fall between 21 October and 13 December 2026. The offer is open to Skywards members who live outside the UAE, and the journey must begin outside the country. The minimum qualifying stay in Dubai is 24 hours; the maximum is 30 days.
The offer works across all cabin classes and fare types, but only on return tickets: one-way flights and award tickets booked with Miles do not qualify. Registration is required, and only tickets that are themselves eligible to earn Skywards Miles will count.
What it means for a private trip
For an affluent guest, the value lies less in the 7,200 Miles themselves than in the mechanic. The cap is reached in about five days, which is precisely the horizon people tend to plan an unhurried private stay around: no race between landmarks, a private driver, private visits and an open schedule. In effect, the offer rewards those who linger in Dubai rather than pass through it.
If you fly in First or Business, the base Mile accrual is already high, and the Mile-A-Minute bonus sits on top of it. The Miles you bank are easy to direct toward upgrades and award flights on a future trip. For a guest from outside the UAE who was already treating Dubai as a base for several days, this is a pleasant but optional addition to a private itinerary, not a reason to change plans.
If your private Dubai trip already falls in autumn, register for Mile-A-Minute before you book: an unhurried five days in the city neatly maxes out the bonus, and the Miles come in handy for an upgrade on your next visit.
