Abu Dhabi's most anticipated museum now has bookable tickets. On 18 September 2026, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi opened sales ahead of its 11 December debut on Saadiyat Island, turning a long-promised opening into something you can actually schedule.
What went on sale
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi opened ticket sales for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi on 18 September 2026, ahead of the museum's opening on 11 December. Standard adult entry is Dh70, while under-18s, UAE residents aged 60 and over, people of determination with a companion, and UAE university students enter free. UAE educators and military pay Dh35, and Fazaa and Esaad cardholders Dh50.
The Frank Gehry-designed building on Saadiyat Island spans about 80,000 square metres with 30 interconnected galleries, making it the largest in the Guggenheim network. Its collection ranges from Pollock, Rothko, Warhol and Basquiat to leading artists from the Arab world, Africa and Asia. Ten sculptural cones rise above the structure, some reaching 88 metres.
What it means for a private trip
For a private, unhurried visit, having tickets on sale this early matters: you can fix a Saadiyat cultural day inside a December or winter itinerary now, rather than competing for entry during the opening rush. Paired with Louvre Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum, the district finally reads as a single walkable cultural quarter for one focused day.
Ahead of December, a free pre-opening programme is already running on Saadiyat, with installations and talks at Manarat Al Saadiyat and Louvre Abu Dhabi through late October, so a private cultural day this autumn can preview the Guggenheim mood before the doors open. From Dubai, the district is an easy private transfer, letting you arrive early and move at your own pace. If you'd rather book the museum itself with a dedicated guide from opening day, our private Guggenheim Abu Dhabi tour reserves that date now.
Tickets are live now; lock a private Saadiyat cultural day into your December visit early, and use this autumn's free pre-opening events on the island as a preview.
